Lorn Cross, Lochgilphead, Scotland
The Lorn Cross design was found in a churchyard in a village in the district of Lorn, Scotland. The knotwork running the length of the cross is endless. It symbolizes the eternal theme: the Alpha and Omega - beginning and end in the eternal circle, the very essence of Celtic art. The outer circle represents heaven. 6" x 4.5".
Each cross is first carved in clay, and then a mold is taken from the carving. The molds are used to cast the crosses in a durable stone-like material, and the pieces are then stained and sealed several times to achieve the final finish. The cross has the finished look of an old-fashioned stone cross found in Ireland. The cross comes with an attached wire hanger on the back, and is ready to be displayed indoors or outdoors in sheltered areas. A lovely weight for hanging. Made in the USA
